Interdisciplinary Major of Unification and International Peace
Interdisciplinary Major of Unification and International Peace
1. Educational Objective
-
The interdisciplinary major of Unification and International Peace aims to produce talented graduates with a comparative and historical understanding of unification and peace from a humanities perspective. German reunification serves as a precedent for the reunification of the Korean Peninsula. Germany, which achieved reunification over 30 years ago, continuously established and implemented various policies and cultural exchanges aimed at reunification between East and West Germany. In the German reunification process, long-term and consistent social and cultural communication, integration policies, and subsequent infrastructure development were crucial for its success. Education on this topic is essential for developing individuals who can objectively reflect on the reality of the Korean Peninsula and propose feasible strategies for the reunification of the two Koreas.
In short, the primary objective of this interdisciplinary major is to nurture talented individuals with knowledge in humanities who are able to fundamentally reflect on the reunification of the Korean Peninsula and the establishment of international peace and find fundamental solutions in the context of the new realities of the 21st century.
